Hey!
My name is Jon. I’ve always been curious about how the world works and the inner workings of the body, which is what originally drew me to the field of neurobiology. In high school, I co-founded a podcast that interviewed scientists on their research, which sparked my interest in learning more about different career paths in the field of science. I’m now in my third year of studying neurobiology at the University of California, San Diego, and am excited to continue exploring the mysteries of the brain and nervous system.
In addition to my studies, I’m also passionate about science communication and helping others learn about the amazing work being done in the scientific community. I started the People of Science podcast to share the stories and experiences of graduate students, doctors, and scientists with a wide range of scientific backgrounds. In each episode, I interview a different guest about their journey through their respective field, the challenges and opportunities they’ve encountered along the way, and their advice for students interested in pursuing a career in science.
I hope that by hearing about people’s experiences and career paths, I can clarify my own career aspirations and provide a valuable resource for other students who are interested in pursuing a career in science.
